Building Brands That Matter with a Proven Framework

I sat at my desk, staring at the endless to-do list. Fresh Chile needed to launch a new product, Organ Mountain Outfitters needed new creative, and Rio Grande Winery had an event coming up with no marketing plan in sight.

Saturdays Coffee was already closed, and Land Magazine was off my plate, but even with fewer brands, it felt like I was drowning.

The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn’t keep juggling it all. Fresh Chile needed growth, Organ Mountain Outfitters needed stability, and Rio Grande Winery deserved the focus to thrive.

But the truth was undeniable—I was failing at all of it.

I didn’t have a system; without one, I was stuck in a constant state of reacting instead of leading.

I had to make a change.

Closing Saturdays Coffee and exiting Land Magazine were tough decisions, but they gave me clarity. If I wanted these brands to thrive, I needed more than effort. I needed structure. I needed a plan.

Finding the Common Thread

First, I stepped back and asked myself, “What do these brands have in common?” At their core, they all relied on telling a story, connecting with people, and consistently delivering value.

They needed the same foundation:

  2. Consistent Creative: Posts, emails, videos—everything had to be planned and executed seamlessly.
  3. Engagement at Scale: Social media wasn’t just a platform; it was the heartbeat of our customer relationships.
  4. The Right People: I couldn’t do it alone.

With this framework, I realized the solution wasn’t about working harder. It was about building a team that could bring this vision to life.

With terabytes of videos, posts, and graphics already created, these roles weren’t just about creating more. They were about organizing, scheduling, and making sure every piece of content worked to grow the brands in a meaningful way.
